Most cruise lines welcome children in their ships, though infants and pregnant women are subject to additional restrictions. (Click here to read more).

Families who book more than one cabin may be subject to minimum age requirements for children to be accommodated in a separate cabin. Your Vacations To Go can check these requirements once you have found a cruise that interests you.

Guests under 25 years old

All cruise lines require that at least one person in each cabin meet a minimum age requirement. The minimum age requirement lower for any cruise line is 18. The following information was provided by the cruise lines at the time of writing this section. It is subject to change and should be verified with your Vacations To Go before booking.

The following cruise lines require that at least one person in each cabin is 18 or more:

American Cruise Lines, Blount, Cruise & Maritime Voyages, Cunard, Fred. Olsen Cruise Line, Orion Expedition Cruises, Ponant Yacht Cruises, Pullmantur, SeaDream and Star Clippers.

The following cruise lines require that all passengers in a cabin are 18 or older, or at least one person in the cabin is 21 or older:

Crystal Cruises, Disney Cruise Line, GAP Adventures, P & O Cruises, Silversea and Viking Cruises.

The following cruise lines require that at least one person in each cabin is 21 or more:

Azamara, Celebrity, Costa (25 in high season cruises, such as Christmas or Easter), Holland America, Hurtigruten, MSC Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Line, Oceania, Paul Gauguin Cruises, Princess Cruises, Regent Seven Seas Cruises, Royal Caribbean, Seabourn Cruise Line, Swan Hellenic, Voyages to Antiquity and Voyages of Discovery.

The following cruise lines require that all passengers in a cabin are 21 or older, or that at least one person in the cabin is 25 or older:

Carnival and Windstar Cruises.

You can make an exception for married couples and children as long as they both have 18 years. They may be asked to show proof of their marriage. This exception is based on the policy of each cruise line and must be confirmed by your Vacations To Go before booking.

Your age on the date of departure as their age for the duration of the cruise.

Alcohol Drinking

Once you have left the port the minimum age for consumption of alcohol varies by cruise line.

Fred. Olsen Cruise Line, Oceania, P & O Cruises and Pullmantur allow all passengers over 18 consume any type of alcoholic beverage you choose.

The minimum age to consume alcoholic beverages on all ships of Azamara, Celebrity and Royal Caribbean is 21 years. However, on cruises departing from Europe and South America, where the legal drinking age is generally less than 21, a parent who is sailing with his (s) son (s) and / or daughter (s) that is between the ages of 18-20 can sign a document that allows a passenger to 18-20 years of age consume alcohol.
